It's not like the old chromebooks.

I also had no idea what a Chromebook really was. I've heard that they were slow and that there wasn't much you could do with them. Will this Chromebook as definitely changed my mind I thought it would be stripped down to only the basics but so far I haven't been held back by anything. The speed of this thing is about as fast as any PC and i have not experienced any slow processing or crashes at all and I usually run multiple apps and my search engines always have way too many windows open. Still this Chromebook did not slow down.
I don't know what's the industry standard is for graphics on notebooks. The screen didn't really amaze me I think because it's only a 13 inch screen but it does perform well for its size. I just feel that if you're going to design a Chromebook with a touch screen it helps that the screen be large enough otherwise it's like using a phone or a toy.
The battery life I can only tell you a full charge gives me at least three days or more depending on how much use it gets. But I only use this for a shopping and browsing the internet.
Storage on this I am reluctant to use the cloud service that they keep pushing mainly because I don't have any use for it.
I'm still learning what the capabilities are of this Chromebook since I'm new to it. Some of my friends have seen it and they said it's nothing like the Chromebooks they used in the past. I can only assume they were referring to the Chromebook's speed. I suppose if I were to hook up a bunch of peripherals to it it might slow down so I tested it and it didn't slow down but I only hooked up simple gadgets. I think people expect too much from Chromebooks and when they slow down they complain. I can't complain about this device because it has far exceeded my expectations of what a Chromebook is supposed to be and I can see why it's got the price tag it does. If it lasts a year being consistently fast , I'll be impressed. But by then they'll come out with better Chromebooks.

I was looking for a snappy, reliable daily driver for work, streaming and casual use and this completely exceeds my expectations.
The Intel Core i3 processor paired with 8GB of RAM makes Chrome OS fly zero lag even with dozens of tabs, a video running and multiple docs open. The 256GB SSD provides plenty of fast local storage.
The display is gorgeous. It’s a 14' WUXGA matte touchscreen, meaning absolutely no annoying glare and the colors are vibrant and crisp. The touch response is perfect. I was also pleasantly surprised to see Wi-Fi 7 compatibility at this price point; my internet connection has been rock solid and lightning-fast. The built-in Google AI features are actually super useful for quick editing and writing assistance, and the FHD webcam is crystal clear for video calls. Battery life easily gets me through a full day. I have everything I need in this model!

Good Quality Chromebook, Just Not For Me

I was looking for something light duty and easy to carry around, maybe something I could travel with. I am not a gamer.
The transition from a full on PC to a chromebook was difficult for me, I missed a lot of the things that i could do my laptop. At 3.5lbs it is even heavier than my premium laptop. This being said, this is an issue with my decision to go with the chromebook and not a reflection of the quality of the Acer Chromebook Plus 514. I will also mention that these disappointments are my fault, not the chromebook so it does not affect my rating.
This chromebook is a good value considering the price. It was super easy to set up. Its great for watching videos, doing emails or light duty internet stuff. I did not try any games. The touch screen is responsive. The key board feels OK but watching videos would be much more pleasant with headphones. The speakers sound a bit metalic with very little bass. The overall quality and feel of the chromebook is good. The USB and USBC ports worked with no issue though i did miss not having a HDMI port to connect to. With browsing, watching a movie and a little bit of email the battery lasted me almost 10 hrs. With a strong Wifi connection video calls were no problem, video calls are typically power hogs, but this was not part of my battery life test.
The overall quality and value of this chromebook is good but unfortunately it is just something that is not for me.

This Chromebook is the best I've owned so far, as it looks and feels like a premium device. The specs are excellent, performance is superb, quick in speed, easy to use, and battery life is long lasting. The graphics are perfect for watching movies or playing games. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for an upgrade.

Excellent chromebook for school and daily use

The 256GB SSD is generous for a Chromebook, and Wi-Fi 7 is a nice future-ready feature. It’s lightweight enough to carry around but still feels capable enough for real productivity. A very good choice if you want a simple, fast, reliable laptop without Windows overhead.

Very capable Chromebook

The laptop isn't too heavy, has a nice feel to it. The hinge opens easily enough and you get a really nice keyboard, touchscreen, and trackpad. The trackpad is VERY responsive and sized like a Macbook trackpad. The screen is very vibrant and the CPU/GPU is responsive. It's a Chromebook, so don't expect the world. It is loaded with the Chrome OS and boots up very quickly. I think this is a nice laptop for the price.
