Customer Review4 out of 5 starsA beast of a machine, but lags behind my M1 MacBook Pro for video tasks
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.I’ve noticed every review so far uses the word “beast.” And for good reason - this is a massive computer with a lot of power. I work in a creative field, so I was curious to see how it would hold up for tasks in my workflow.
The size and weight are significant. It’s built like a tank. None of my existing laptop sleeves or bags comfortably accommodate it, so if you plan on carrying this around, make sure you have an adequately sized bag - though I don’t doubt it’s durability. You get a massive screen, which looks beautiful and has excellent color accuracy, according to the specs. You also get a massive power brick with long cables - technically portable, but not the kind of thing you “toss in your bag” to carry around. The outer material is an absolute smudge and fingerprint magnet.
The keyboard is comfortable to use and has a great feel. The trackpad is equally nice, which excellent tap sensitively. But if you leave it in the default “clicking on the right side = right click,” you’ll notice that it’s awkwardly off-center relative to the entire machine. It features RGB lighting that can be endlessly customized, set to a preset, or turned off.
There are a lot of ports, not only on the sides but also the back. I’m surprised that there are only 2 type C ports, both on the back, but you don’t lack for connectivity or peripheral speed. When I connect an external SSD, the file transfer speeds are fast.
A built-in management program (accessible by a dedicated key on the keyboard) allows for a lot of customization, including management of power modes from quiet to turbo. The most power-hungry of these modes are only available when it’s plugged into AC power. In turbo mode, the power and speed increase dramatically, and so does the fan noise. It can get loud, dissipating a lot of heat.
I pitted it against my 2021 M1 Max MacBook Pro for a performance test. The MacBook has 64 gb of ram compared to the 32gb of the Acer. I dropped a 4K raw video file into Adobe Media Encoder and ran several encoding tasks side-by-side, compressing to H.264 and H.265 format. The 5-year-old MacBook is consistently faster at this task. To come close to the MacBook’s speed, I had to crank the Acer up to Turbo mode. In that mode, it was maybe 10% slower than the MacBook, and the fan blew loudly while the MacBook remained completely silent. The resultant video files were also about 10% smaller on the MacBook, despite using the same application and settings.
Take from that what you will, with the understanding that this isn’t solid as a video compression machine. But if you work in a creative field and work with video files, this is probably not the most efficient machine for you. But it plows through anything my family members ask of it and provides significant comfort while using it. Bear in mind, as a windows machine, it comes ready to go but requires you to sign in to or create a Microsoft Account, and little popups with continue to try to sell you things for a while.

Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content. My main desktop computer at home is several years old. It still works surprisingly well, but I've been casually looking at replacement options because I know it won't stay current forever. I had always assumed I'd eventually buy another desktop, but someone recently told me they use a gaming laptop as their primary computer. They simply connect it to a larger monitor when they're at home and, if needed, can unplug it and take it with them. The idea immediately appealed to me.
After spending some time with the Acer Predator Helios Neo 18 AI, I can see why this approach is becoming more popular. When connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, it feels like a high-performance desktop. At the same time, it offers the convenience of portability that a traditional desktop simply can't match.
While this is marketed as a gaming laptop, our household is made up mostly of everyday users with a few casual gamers. What we appreciate most is the overall speed and responsiveness. The Intel Core Ultra 9 processor handles everything effortlessly, whether it's web browsing with dozens of tabs open, streaming videos, video calls, photo organization, office work, or running multiple applications at once.
The 32GB of DDR5 memory and 2TB Gen 4 SSD make a noticeable difference in daily use. Programs launch quickly, files open almost instantly, and the system never feels bogged down. The large storage capacity means there's plenty of room for family photos, videos, documents, and software without constantly worrying about running out of space.
The 18-inch display is beautiful and spacious, making it comfortable for productivity tasks, streaming movies, and general use. Text is sharp, colors look great, and the large screen provides plenty of room for multitasking. Even family members who aren't interested in gaming immediately noticed how nice the display looks.
The RTX 5070 Ti graphics card may be more power than we strictly need, but it helps future-proof the system and ensures it can easily handle demanding applications, creative projects, and occasional gaming. It's reassuring to know the hardware won't feel outdated anytime soon.
We also appreciate the Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, which keeps streaming, downloads, and online activities running smoothly throughout the house.
What stands out most is the versatility. This machine can serve as a powerful family computer, a productivity workstation, an entertainment hub, and a gaming system when desired. For anyone considering replacing an aging desktop, this laptop offers an excellent combination of performance, flexibility, and longevity. It has completely changed my view of what a laptop can do and feels like a smart investment for years to come.

I sent it to Acer in TX, and they replaced both saying my warranty would be extended into June of 2026 to compensate for the time they had it, but now thst the replacement screen they installed only a couple months ago is delaminating AGAIN in right above the logo on the screen, Acer says I'm out of warranty based on the original warranty date from purchase of 3/28 and want to charge me over $1700. DO NOT TRUST ACER. This is my 4th and FINAL Acer Predator purchase. DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP! You have been warned.

Kris R5 out of 5 starsPowerful laptop for gaming and daily tasks
Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.I have been using this Acer Predator Helios Neo as both a gaming system and my primary computer for work and entertainment, and it has fit into my routine very well. The setup process was straightforward, and I was up and running quickly without needing to spend much time adjusting settings. Right away, the system felt responsive during everyday tasks, and switching between applications was smooth and hassle free. I spend a lot of time browsing the web, managing photos, and handling personal projects, and this laptop keeps everything moving efficiently. It feels dependable from the moment I power it on each day. The display creates an immersive experience whether I am gaming, streaming videos, or simply working on documents. The keyboard is comfortable to use for extended periods, which makes long sessions much easier. I also appreciate that the overall design looks modern without being overly flashy.
Gaming has been the main reason I purchased this laptop, and it has delivered a consistently enjoyable experience. Games launch quickly, and the overall performance feels smooth during both casual and more demanding titles. I often keep chat applications, browsers, and other programs open while gaming, and the system handles multitasking without issue. The visual quality helps make games feel more engaging and immersive. I have also used it for photo organization and light content creation, and it performs those tasks with ease. The cooling system seems to manage longer sessions well, allowing me to stay focused on what I am doing. Even after several hours of use, the experience remains comfortable and consistent.
What has impressed me most is how this laptop has simplified my daily routine by combining gaming, productivity, and entertainment into one device. I no longer feel the need to switch between multiple computers depending on the task. Everything from checking email to relaxing with a game can be done on the same machine. The convenience alone has made a noticeable difference in how I spend my time. It feels like a product that was designed for people who want strong performance without unnecessary complications. While it is certainly a significant purchase, I believe the overall experience justifies the investment. The combination of ease of use, reliability, and versatility has made it a valuable addition to my setup. After using it regularly, I am very satisfied with how it has performed. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a laptop that can handle demanding games while also serving as an excellent everyday computer. Users who want one device for work, entertainment, and gaming will likely benefit the most from this laptop.

Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content. The Acer Predator Helios Neo 18 is a beast for gaming on the go, but the fan noise keeps it from a perfect score. The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070 Ti combo crushed benchmarks: 80fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K medium, 55fps on high, and still playable 33fps medium with ray tracing enabled. 32GB DDR5 and 2TB Gen4 SSD keep load times snappy, and the 240Hz WQXGA G-SYNC panel looks sharp. Killer Wi-Fi 6E stayed stable in my tests.
However, the fans run at near full blast even with just browser tabs open, which is loud enough to be distracting in a quiet room or hotel (relevant for my upcoming Southwest training). Under sustained gaming/AI loads it’s expected, but the always-on aggressive curve hurts the experience for lighter tasks. Great performance if you use headphones or don’t mind the noise; otherwise, consider it for dedicated gaming sessions.
Also, if you think youre going to buy this and run local ai models, this isnt really meant for that. The AI in the name is really just meant to keep microsoft's new spy tools running smoothly. You could certainly run a small 8gb model with the included vram, but there isnt really anything inherhently spoecial about this laptop that would make it run local llm's better than pretty much any other gaming laptop out there.

Kindle Customer5 out of 5 starsWOW!! This laptop is absolutely amazing!
Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content. This laptop is much better than my previous desktop gaming pc by far!
The laptop has the Intel Ultra 9 processor and that processor just blows away any previous processor I have used before. I play a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and War Thunder so, I cranked up the settings to test it with and I got a whopping 440+ fps. No lag, no screen tearing, no jitter. And this was in performance mode mind you, not even turbo mode.
This laptop is a Beast with a capital B.
Speaking of turbo mode, thanks to the rear facing exhaust ports, heat and noise are minimal. Even while in turbo mode. In most cases I cannot really hearr the fans unless I am really listing for the. You can still hear the fans on occasion but it’s surprisingly muted despite having multiple fans.
The RGB and animated display on the back of the lid are genuinely unlike anything else I've seen in a laptop. The level in which you can customize the colors, patterns, brightness, and anything else you can imagine is astounding. Very cool!
Really surprised how cold the CPU runs. I think I never got it higher than 85C and thefFans still weren't very loud either.
Great performance and no heat problems whatsoever. As a desktop replacement it works extremely well. Tat being said however weight might be a problem if you actually trying to carry this thing around with you. This is more of a desktop laptop than one I would place in my lap and use.
The appearance is asolid black plastic, looks good, it had RGB lights all around is good if you’re into that. It gives it a really cool look especially in low light.
If you have the money, I’d definitely recommend this laptop and would consider buying again. Get one and take your gaming to the next level!

Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2026Vine Customer Review of Free ProductBrief content visible, double tap to read full content.Full content visible, double tap to read brief content. This ASUS PHN18-72-9474 is a true monster laptop built specifically for serious gaming.
The lid has a premium metal finish, while the chassis around the keyboard is plastic. It’s bulky and noticeably heavy, but the impressive specs more than justify the size.
You get a fully mechanical keyboard with snap-on keycaps for easy customization, plus plenty of vibrant RGB lighting that looks great and helps with key visibility in the dark. The 18-inch display is solid, but the real standout is the ultra-smooth 240Hz refresh rate.
Performance is excellent thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with 12GB GDDR7, making even demanding games run fluidly. Expandability is fantastic too — four RAM slots and three M.2 slots mean you can take this machine to another level.
Cooling is effective: the fans are audible under heavy load but never excessively loud. The glass touchpad feels premium with smooth tracking and satisfying clicks. The 2TB SSD offers fast read speeds, though write speeds are only average. Speakers are powerful but lack crisp clarity.
Overall, this is a high-end gaming laptop that doesn’t come cheap. It’s absolute overkill for web browsing or office work, but if you want to push extremes in gaming and content creation, it’s an outstanding choice. Highly recommended for enthusiasts who can afford it.
